O.k. well I'm at home for just a couple of days and I finally got through to blogger. I didn't even know it posted my last entry because it erased me twice. Come to find out it cut some off, so I'll finish that up.
The house we are looking to lease/purchase will not be available until the first of January. The couple that owns it is moving to Africa to train pastors and won't be leaving until then. So we need a place for 2-3 months until that works out.
The update is, I got a call yesterday afternoon from the owner of the house I'm in. She decided that she needed to work on the house without occupants. I have until next weekend to find a place. I spent most of the ride home trying not to throw up from the stress. Any ideas folks? You'd think I'd have my sea legs by now wouldn't you?
The rollercoaster this week also included this event. After I got my first paycheck and my husband paid bills, we had like $20 to make it the next two weeks. That meant I would not make it home for my son's 14th birthday. When he found this out he called me sobbing! Another weepy day at work. I was finally able to get some of the email addresses from the folks back home and shared just a bit of what was going on with one of my friends.
He called that evening and said that everyone deserves a good birthday, and he and his wife were paying for my gas to come home! So here I am, trying to figure out what to take back with me and where I'm going to put it anyway. Enjoying my family and praying like crazy.
I appreciate your comments and prayers. This adventure doesn't feel very fun yet.

Oh Mombo. I don't know about you but I'm trying to look down the road a year from now when this will all be a nightmare you went through. How awful you have such short notice to move. That's just not right.
I don't know how much stuff you have with you but perhaps you can find one of those motels that rents rooms with kitchenettes by the week just to have somewhere to stay until you can find something better. They're usually pretty reasonable and not all of them are in the bad parts of town. Just a thought since this landlord didn't give you much notice at all.
Whew. I'd be weepy too. But what great friends you have to make sure you're there for your son's birthday. Very, very thoughtful of them.
When it seems overwhelming, try to remember how it felt to not have a job at all. That's a HUGE hurdle you've already jumped over. It'll get better.
L., I'm sorry this has been so hard! I'm praying that a year from now, you'll all be able to look back and think, "Whew! Glad that's over, and look how great life is now!"
Some adventures just stink. That's what I think of our summer this year. And as I type this, my house is 90 degrees because my a/c has gone out, and it's the weekend, and it's too hot to live:)
Oh, and I forgot to answer your question, Addison's hair only appears to be well-organized! She's actually bald on the sides from sleeping on her side. I don't foresee a haircut in her future for a long, long time. Remember how long we left Gray's hair? Only after somebody called him "princess" did we get it trimmed!
LT,
Sarah sent me your blog info, YEA! I'm sorry things have been so rough for you. You were really looking forward to this "adventure". I'm sure you thought there would be some fun involved.... Fun is on the way, it just had a detour!!
As always, you're in my prayers!
Missi
